How it works.
Pick a game once. That pick counts on every card and every board the game is on.
The cards
- The national card is every game with a team in that week’s AP Top 25 (the poll released going into the week), whoever the opponent. Two ranked teams are one game. A light week is topped up to 15 with the week’s biggest rivalries and matchups. It’s set Monday and a later poll never changes it.
- A conference card is every game a conference’s teams play that week, nonconference opponents included.
- Games on both need one pick. Your conference card shows only the games it adds.
Points
- Right winner: 1 point (2 in a rivalry)
- Name the score: 3 more if it's exact, 1 if each team is within 3
- Called the upset: 1 more when 25% of fans or fewer picked the winner
- The upset is judged on how everyone picked by kickoff, the same for every board.
Winning
- Most points wins. A game you miss is zero, and points you’ve earned never go away. Equal points share the place.
- A full card (every game picked) is its own mark: it shows you showed up, apart from how well you picked.
- Weekly honors need a real field: 3+ in a crew, 10+ fans of a team, 25+ in a conference, 100+ nationally, and at least 3 games final. The size of the field goes with the honor.
Fanbases and conferences
- You represent the team on your account when you first pick on a week’s card; changing it later counts from next week.
- A fanbase’s score is the average points of every fan who picked on the card, zeros included, so a big fanbase doesn’t win on numbers and nobody drops out after the results. 3+ fans to be ranked.
- A conference’s score is the average of all its fans. We show how many schools they come from, and one vote per school once three schools have 3+ fans.
- These describe the fans taking part, not every fan of a school.
When the schedule changes
- Each game locks at its own kickoff. A time still to be announced has no countdown; you can pick it, and it locks at midday Eastern on game day until a time is set.
- A pick saved after a game actually started doesn’t count, even if the schedule was late to say so.
- A game not final 48 hours after the card’s last kickoff is void for that card: no points, and nobody is short a pick.
- An official score correction updates every board and honor it touches, and we tell anyone whose honor changed.
Groups and challenges
- A group can play the national card, a conference, a team’s games or games you choose. On the national card it needs no extra picks.
- Group against group: both sides play the same games; the side whose players average more points wins. Players who joined after that week’s first kickoff count from the next week, and someone in both groups sits that matchup out.
